As a member, you can use the Agent for your own shifts and leave. You’ll only ever see your own schedule, not your colleagues’.
Your member account must be linked to your doctor profile for the Agent to find your shifts. If the Agent says it can’t find your schedule, ask an admin to link your account.

Check your schedule

Ask about any stretch of dates, up to about four months at a time. For example:
  • “What shifts do I have next week?”
  • “Am I working on 14 March?”
  • “Do I have any leave booked this month?”
The Agent shows shifts from published rosters only. Draft rosters don’t appear until an admin publishes them.

Pick up an open shift

Open shifts are shifts that have fewer doctors than they need. Ask something like:
  • “Are there any open shifts this weekend?”
  • “Add me to the open Night shift on Saturday.”
The Agent prepares a proposal to add you. Click Confirm to take the shift. You can also ask to be taken off a shift, for example “Remove me from Tuesday’s Evening shift”.

Swap a shift

Ask the Agent to swap one of your shifts, for example “I can’t do Friday night, can you find me a swap?” The Agent looks for the best colleague to swap with, or someone who can take the shift without giving one back (a transfer). It shows you the option, and you click Confirm to make the swap. The same rules apply as when you swap from the roster. You can only swap your own shifts.

Apply for or cancel leave

  • Apply: “Apply for annual leave from 3 to 7 March.” If your organisation has more than one leave type, the Agent asks which one.
  • Cancel: “Cancel my leave request for next Monday.” You can only cancel a request that is still pending.
Applying through the Agent creates a pending request, the same as applying from the Leave page. You’re not off until an admin approves it. See Approving and rejecting leave.

Ask “how do I” and policy questions

  • “How do I change my shifts to avoid?” The Agent answers from the PlanMyRounds help guides.
  • “What’s our policy on swapping night shifts?” The Agent answers from the policies your organisation has added. If there’s no policy on that topic, it will say so.
