# A doctor can't see their roster

> Check member account status, the doctor-member link, and Duty Plan status when a doctor can't see their duties in PlanMyRounds.

  <Step title="Do they have a member account?">
    A doctor needs a **member account** to sign in at all. A doctor profile on its own doesn't grant login access. See [Staff profiles and user accounts](/docs/team/staff-profiles-and-user-accounts).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Is their account Active?">
    A deactivated member account can't sign in, and its linked doctor profile is automatically set to **Inactive**. See [Deactivating or removing a member](/docs/team/removing-a-user).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Is their member account linked to their doctor profile?">
    Without a link, the person can still sign in, but they only see the general organisation view — not their own duties. [Link the account](/docs/team/link-or-unlink-accounts) to their doctor profile.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Is the Duty Plan actually published?">
    Doctors can't see a roster while it's still in **Draft**. Only **Published** rosters are visible to the team, and only published rosters appear on the [Duty Calendar](/docs/rosters/duty-calendar).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Is the doctor part of this roster?">
    If the doctor was never included in this particular Duty Plan's team selection, there's nothing to show them for that period.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Are they filtering the calendar?">
    On the Duty Calendar, a doctor's own Department or Location filter could be hiding a duty at a different site. Have them clear the filters.
