# Common onboarding issues

> Invite emails not arriving, a new member not showing up to link, and new-doctor shift restrictions — what to check when setting up your team.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Invitation email hasn't arrived">
    Delivery can be delayed a few minutes, or filtered to spam. Open the pending invitation and select **Resend Invite**, or copy the invite link and share it directly. See [Inviting a team member](/docs/team/inviting-a-member#if-the-invitation-email-didnt-arrive).
  </Step>

  <Step title="New member doesn't show up when linking a doctor profile">
    A member has to **accept their invitation** before they appear in the link search. If they're pending, they won't show up yet. See [Link a doctor to a member account](/docs/team/doctor-profiles#link-a-doctor-to-a-member-account).
  </Step>

  <Step title="New doctor keeps missing certain shifts">
    If your organisation uses a new-doctor onboarding period, doctors within a configured number of days of their **Date of joining** are automatically protected from specific shift types. This is expected, not a bug — check the onboarding window under **Other Configurations** on the roster. See [New doctor onboarding period](/docs/rosters/roster-constraints#new-doctor-onboarding-period).
  </Step>

  <Step title="A newly invited member got the wrong role">
    Members who join through a shared **organisation invite link** always get the **Member** role by default, even if you intended Admin. [Change their role](/docs/team/roles-and-permissions#change-a-members-role) after they join, or invite admins individually by email instead.
  </Step>

  <Step title="A doctor profile exists but the person can't sign in">
    A doctor profile alone doesn't grant login access. They need a **member account**, [linked](/docs/team/link-or-unlink-accounts) to the doctor profile. See [A doctor can't see their roster](/docs/troubleshooting/doctor-cannot-see-roster).
  </Step>
</Steps>
