# PlanMyRounds Help Center

> Find how-to guides and troubleshooting for building duty rosters, managing shifts, leave, and swaps in PlanMyRounds.

PlanMyRounds helps you build and manage doctor duty rosters. You add doctors, configure shifts, collect availability and leave, generate a roster, review it, and publish it to your team.

This site covers every part of that: creating rosters, Auto Duty, shifts, leave, swaps, and your team. If something isn't working the way you expect, start in [Troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting/duty-plan-generation-failed).

## I want to...

> **[Create a Duty Plan](/docs/rosters/creating-a-roster)**
>
> Walk through the four-step wizard: dates, shifts, team, and rules.

> **[Set up shifts](/docs/shifts/creating-shifts)**
>
> Define shift timings and staffing requirements.

> **[Add doctors](/docs/team/inviting-a-member)**
>
> Invite a member and set up their doctor profile.

> **[Generate a roster](/docs/rosters/creating-a-roster#generate-the-roster)**
>
> Run the scheduling engine against your inputs.

> **[Review and publish a Duty Plan](/docs/rosters/publishing-a-roster)**
>
> Check coverage and workload, then make it visible to your team.

> **[Edit a published Duty Plan](/docs/rosters/editing-a-published-roster)**
>
> Reassign a shift or add a doctor after publishing.

> **[Approve leave](/docs/leave/approval-workflow)**
>
> Review pending leave requests before you generate a roster.

> **[Handle a doctor calling in sick](/docs/rosters/editing-a-published-roster)**
>
> Reassign the shift without regenerating the whole roster.

> **[Swap a duty](/docs/swaps/overview)**
>
> Let doctors trade shifts directly, without an admin.

> **[Set up Auto Duty](/docs/auto-duty-planning/overview)**
>
> Automate a recurring weekly or monthly roster.

> **[Fix a failed Duty Plan](/docs/troubleshooting/duty-plan-generation-failed)**
>
> Diagnose why generation failed and retry.

> **[Understand why a doctor wasn't assigned](/docs/troubleshooting/doctor-not-assigned)**
>
> Work through the checks the engine applies, in order.

## I'm an admin

> **[Create and manage Duty Plans](/docs/rosters/overview)**
>
> The full lifecycle from creation to publish.

> **[Manage doctors and members](/docs/team/overview)**
>
> Add people, set roles, and link accounts.

> **[Configure shifts](/docs/shifts/overview)**
>
> Shift Requirements, Shift Schedules, and staffing rules.

> **[Set up Auto Duty](/docs/auto-duty-planning/overview)**
>
> Recurring rosters that notify staff and generate on a schedule.

## I'm a doctor

> **[View my duties](/docs/rosters/duty-calendar)**
>
> See your published shifts on the Duty Calendar.

> **[Submit leave or a shift to avoid](/docs/leave/applying-for-leave)**
>
> Request time off, or mark a shift you'd prefer not to work.

> **[Request a swap](/docs/swaps/requesting-a-swap)**
>
> Trade or hand off a published shift with a colleague.
