# Syncing your calendar

> Connect Google Calendar to see your own published duties alongside your personal schedule, and understand the current limits of Calendar Sync.

Calendar Sync pushes your **own** published duty shifts to a personal calendar you connect, so they show up alongside the rest of your schedule without you copying anything over by hand.

<Note>
  Calendar Sync only syncs shifts you're assigned to on a **published** roster. It doesn't sync leave, swaps for other doctors, or anything on a Draft roster.

## Current limits

<Warning>
  Calendar Sync is an early feature with a few limits worth knowing before you rely on it:

  * **Google Calendar only.** Microsoft Outlook is shown on the connect screen but isn't available to connect yet.
  * **Primary calendar only.** Events always sync to the primary calendar on the connected account. There's currently no option to choose a different calendar.

## Connect Google Calendar

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Calendar Sync">
    Go to **Settings**, then **Integrations**, then select the **Calendar Sync** tab.

  <Step title="Connect">
    Select **Connect Google Calendar** and sign in with the Google account you want your duties to appear on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Grant access">
    Approve the permissions PlanMyRounds asks for. Once connected, the page shows **Connected as** your account email.
  </Step>

## Manage the connection

| Action                         | What it does                                                                         |
| ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Sync Now**                   | Forces an immediate sync instead of waiting for the next automatic one.              |
| **Disconnect only**            | Stops future syncing. Events PlanMyRounds already added to your calendar stay there. |
| **Disconnect & remove events** | Stops future syncing and removes the events PlanMyRounds already added.              |
